Northwest Bank

Making “what’s next” matter right now

B2C , Financial

“For what’s next” has always been about helping customers move confidently toward the future. But sometimes, it’s about what’s happening right now. By bringing the campaign closer to the realities of everyday life, we helped Northwest Bank show customers it’s ready for whatever comes their way—today, tomorrow and beyond.

After more than two years of building brand awareness, Northwest Bank needed to evolve its “For what’s next” campaign to better connect with a younger generation of emerging affluent consumers, primarily older Gen Z and younger Millennial audiences, without losing relevance among its broader customer base. The challenge was to modernize the brand, deepen its appeal with the next generation of customers, and increase awareness and consideration across two highly competitive regional markets.

Financial planning has always been about preparing for the future. But in 2025, the future felt less predictable than ever. Instead of focusing solely on long-term financial goals, people were concentrating on what they could control today. “Real life” wasn’t waiting for tomorrow. It was happening now.

We recognized that customers weren’t looking for a bank that simply promised a better future. They wanted a financial partner with the expertise, guidance and tools to help them navigate life’s realities today while preparing confidently for what’s next.

We deepened the “For what’s next” campaign by celebrating the real-life moments that matter most. Rather than relying on broad financial promises, we highlighted the everyday decisions, milestones and challenges customers face and showed how Northwest Bank’s innovative digital tools help make those moments a little easier, a little simpler and a lot more manageable.

The integrated media campaign paired refreshed creative with high-impact digital video, TrueX interactive video and display media to maximize reach and engagement while reinforcing consistent messaging throughout the consumer journey.

Increase in brand awareness

Increase in brand familiarity

Increase in purchase intent

By making “For what’s next” more personal, relevant and meaningful, the campaign successfully strengthened Northwest Bank’s brand among both existing and emerging audiences. It also drove significant gains in awareness, consideration and purchase intent while outperforming category benchmarks across multiple independent brand studies. Not bad for a campaign featuring an adorable pup.

  • Brand Awareness increased to 55%, exceeding the financial services benchmark of 48% and representing a 34% lift among exposed audiences.
  • Brand Familiarity increased 38%, Consideration increased 40% and Purchase Intent increased 67%, demonstrating meaningful movement throughout the marketing funnel.
  • Performance strengthened over time, with fourth-quarter results showing more than double the lift in lower-funnel metrics compared with earlier campaign periods, indicating that sustained investment continued to build momentum.
