Mower, the 100% employee-owned advertising, marketing and public relations agency, is raising the bar on professional development opportunities for its 150+ executives across the U.S. with the introduction of a new “Coach-in-Residence.” Michael Sgro, CPBC of Michael Sgro Leadership Coaching will be based in Mower’s Syracuse, NY headquarters, turning the celebrated educator and coach into an onsite and virtual advisor for the agency, which was recently named a top large agency of the year by the Association of National Advertisers and one of PRWeek’s “Best Places to Work.”

Sgro will operate his business from his new dedicated workspace at Mower and will provide both in-person and virtual support for Mower’s employee owners via lunch and learn events, group coaching, one-on-one support, and mentoring. As Mower’s Coach-in-Residence, he will help accelerate the agency’s communication skills, ignite employee engagement and foster Mower’s core values: Act like an owner; Be insatiably curious; Always raise the bar; Never give up; Put community first; and Have fun.

“We are lucky to call Michael a ‘Fierce Friend’ of Mower, and I’m very happy to welcome him to Mower’s headquarters as both a new neighbor and a trusted advisor,” said Stephanie Crockett, president and CEO of Mower. She continued, “He has previously supported our executives across our 10 markets with emotional training intelligence work, and as our first Coach-in-Residence, we’ll be able to continue building powerful growth opportunities for our employee-owners.”

Michael Sgro added, “This is about more than a change of address for Michael Sgro Leadership Coaching. Serving as Mower’s Coach-in-Residence is an opportunity to connect with and nurture extraordinary leaders around the country as they continue developing empathy as a core competency. The Mower community shares my passion for working with love, driving excellence and innovation, and having fun along the way, and I’m looking forward to this collaboration.”
