When the CEO of a publicly traded company passed away unexpectedly, Mower was called in to support an urgent, high-stakes communications rollout. The company had to inform employees, investors, regulators and the public—quickly and in the right order.
We immediately convened with the board, senior leadership, legal counsel and comms leads to draft a plan that met both emotional and regulatory needs. Together, we developed a suite of communications: a press release, SEC filing, employee announcement, customer outreach and scripts for leadership.
Importantly, core programs for students and staff remained intact. The district made it clear that while the past couldn’t be undone, it would not define the future. Messages were tailored for internal audiences, families, local leaders and the media—each with the clarity and compassion the situation demanded.
The result was not a reversal of harm—but a restoration of trust. The district didn’t try to rewrite history. It focused on writing a better future.
Hey! Our name is pronounced Mōw-rrr, like this thing I’m pushing.
