Mower Honored by Diversity Action Alliance for One Hundred Black Men of New York “Open Every Door” Campaign

Mower named a featured honoree in the organization’s 2022 Best DEI Advocacy Campaign program.

NEW YORK—June 16, 2022—Resulting from the success of the “Open Every Door” campaign created for One Hundred Black Men of New York, Mower has been recognized by the Diversity Action Alliance. Mower was announced as a featured honoree at the Diversity Action Alliance Diversity Dinner for creating a 2022 Best DEI Advocacy Campaign.

The Diversity Action Alliance is a coalition of public relations and communications leaders joining forces to accelerate progress in the achievement of meaningful and tangible results in diversity, equity and inclusion. The Best DEI Advocacy Campaign award is presented to an organization that has initiated an impactful and innovative external advocacy campaign to further progress in DEI for people of color within the past year.

In the wake of George Floyd’s murder, Mower developed a relationship with One Hundred Black Men of New York (OHBM-NY) as a tangible way to support racial justice. OHBM-NY is elevating opportunity and equity in the Black community and is responsible for over five decades of significant, essential work in New York. They came to Mower with a goal to raise awareness of its history, mission and impact, drive engagement and increase assistance from the community through volunteer and financial support.

The result was a new brand campaign for OHBM-NY, with the tagline “Open Every Door”. The campaign pays homage to the rich history of the organization and carries into the future its legacy of transformation – striving to ensure that the doors of opportunity in education, business, and healthcare are open to all who choose to walk through them. 

Mower’s media department secured a large out of home media donation to support campaign awareness, resulting in 25 million impressions. The “Open Every Door” campaign greeted New Yorkers across the city, in all five boroughs, in print and digital formats, on taxis and in bus shelters, and in the heart of Times Square at the entrance to one of the busiest subway stations: Times Square/42nd Street.
