Syracuse, N.Y. – FirstEnergy—whose 10 electric utilities form one of the nation’s largest investor-owned electric systems, serving customers in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia and Maryland—and Mower teamed up to help Browns fans unleash their Best Fan Energy.
Mower designed over 25 environmental graphics, both static and animated, that capture the excitement and energy that is buzzing around FirstEnergy Stadium during game day. Including digital boards outside the stadium, the digital ribbon inside the stadium, backlit duratrans and charging stations, the signs are being featured throughout FirstEnergy Stadium during the 2019 NFL season.
Featuring Browns fans with painted faces expressing the elation that can only be felt in the Dawg Pound, the signs tell fans to bring, turn up, feed and unleash their #BestFanEnergy, while charging station graphics encourage fans to “get charged up” as they plug in, recharge and share their energy.
“There’s a supercharged level of fan excitement around the 2019 Browns season, and we’re proud to be part of it,” said Doug Colafella, director of communications and branding at FirstEnergy. “The imagery and messaging Mower created capture the anticipation, intensity, passion, excitement and energy that are buzzing around the building on game day.”
“Browns fans were excited to kick off this season because of what they expected to happen on the field, and we were excited for what they would see walking into the stadium,” said Kevin Tripodi, senior vice president, creative director, Mower. “Teaming up with FirstEnergy and creating awesome work that represents one of the most passionate and loyal fan bases in the league made Sundays a little more special for us.”
Mower’s Energy & Sustainability specialty works with the world’s largest utility companies, government energy authorities and challenger-brand upstarts—providing insights that are grounded in reliable research, a little blue-sky thinking and tons of real-world experience.
In addition to the stadium signage, the agency’s specialty group recently created FirstEnergy’s Brighter Future campaign, which was recognized at the 95th annual Utility Communicators International (UCI) Better Communications Competition (BCC), receiving two first-place awards.
One of the largest independent marketing, advertising and public relations agencies in the U.S., Mower’s strategic approach has earned the agency top industry accolades ranging from Clio, Cannes and ANA B2 awards to rankings in AdAge, PR Week, the Chief Marketer 200 and a four-time PR News “Top Places to Work.”
