Last week, The Wall Street Journal called out The Genesee Brewery for becoming a part of the national conversation around President Obama’s Beer Summit. The WSJ blog focusing on private equity awarded its “Savvy PR Move of the Week” to The Genesee Brewery, a public relations client of Eric Mower and Associates (EMA).
“We used an existing platform to tell an American story about a brewery that employs nearly 400 unionized workers,” said Mary Beth Popp, director of Brand Public Relations at EMA, who also leads The Genesee Brewery team. “Earning Savvy PR Move of the Week recognizes our ability to work smart and quick on behalf of our clients.”
Popp is quick to point out that big wins like this don’t happen by chance, rather they are a direct result of a strong, collaborative agency-client relationship.
“Making a regional beer like Genny a part of a national conversation only happens when you have a great, thoughtful and engaged client who works with you. Our publicity program was executed in under two hours. Our team – both the agency and client – wanted a win for Genny beer. That type of commitment creates results,” Popp added.
