Eric Mower Ranked 20th Most Powerful New Yorker in PR

New York, N.Y.City & State New York listed Mower Chairman and CEO, Eric Mower, as the 20th most powerful New Yorker in public relations in the publication’s inaugural ranking of the best strategic communications professionals in New York politics and policy—the Political PR Power 50.

The premier media organization dedicated to covering New York’s politics and public policy, City & State New York provides in-depth, non-partisan coverage and serves as a trusted guide to the issues impacting New York.

The Political PR Power 50 highlights executives who play a role in New York politics, ranking the top 50 based on several factors including noteworthy accomplishments, number of employees at a firm, size and portfolio of clients, as well as the firm’s activity and influence in Albany.

“Over the course of my 50-plus years with the agency, Mower has grown well beyond the borders of New York state, but New York has always been our home,” said Mower. “While my name is on the listing, this recognition is truly a testament to the members of our Syracuse, Buffalo, Rochester, Albany and New York City public relations and public affairs staff that work so hard for our clients.”

Mower has grown his firm from a single office in Syracuse, N.Y., with a staff of four to one of the largest independent full-service advertising, marketing and public relations agencies in the U.S. The agency has earned top industry accolades including recognition as a four-time PRNEWS “Top Places to Work” winner and two-time Advertising Age “Best Places to Work,” as well as advertising and integrated marketing awards ranging from Clio, Cannes and ANA B2 awards to rankings in AdAge, PR Week and the Chief Marketer 200.

Mower, who was recently elected board chairman of the Business Council of New York State, was an advisory council member for Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s “New York Open for Business” marketing initiative. He was also the founding chair of the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor Commission. He serves as a life trustee of Syracuse University and also on the Advisory Council of Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Mower served for more than 20 years on the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A’s) board of directors and has chaired the 4A’s Government Relations Committee for more than two decades. He is also a past board member of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), and he was inducted into the Association of National Advertisers B2B Hall of Fame in 2019.
