Inaugural Meeting of the Syracuse Metropolitan Development Association and Chamber of Commerce Partnership Presented by EMA

More than 1,000 attendees are expected at the inaugural meeting of the Metropolitan Development Association (MDA) of Syracuse & Central New York and the Greater Syracuse Chamber of Commerce partnership. The organization’s kick-off event on May 10 at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center at Oncenter is sponsored by marketing communications firm Eric Mower and Associates (EMA).

“EMA has deep roots in Central New York, and we share the MDA and Chamber’s insatiable desire to see the area thrive. This luncheon has a history of launching transformational initiatives and we believe this year’s event will deliver again with the inauguration of the new MDA-Chamber partnership. EMA is proud to support these two institutions as they become a single, powerful voice for Syracuse and Central New York,” said Chris Steenstra, Senior Partner, EMA.

At the meeting, the MDA and Chamber will unveil the identity of the new organization—with more than 2,000 members and a 170-year combined history of achievement that will be created as a result of their partnership. EMA helped develop a new name and logo for the organization.

“At this pivotal time for the state and our region, we are pleased that the business community has the opportunity to take a new, more unified approach to addressing key issue through this new organization,” said Robert M. Simpson, President and CEO of the MDA. “This event will mark an important milestone in the region’s business and economic development history.”
