Hal Goodman Chosen as Finalist for 2008 CFO of the Year Awards

Hal Goodman, a partner and director of finance at Eric Mower and Associates, was named a finalist for the Central New York Business Journal’s 2008 CFO of the Year Award.

The award recognizes and honors Central New York’s top chief financial officers in their field. This year marks the first for the award, which will be presented at the CFO of the Year Awards Luncheon at 11 a.m. at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center in Syracuse.

“Hal has his hand on the heartbeat of EMA’s financial present and future,” said Chris Steenstra, senior partner, Eric Mower and Associates. “He protects that future with his knowledge, enthusiasm and constant vigilance of the financial health of the company.”

Goodman joined EMA in 1979, and since joining has worked in various positions relating to financial areas within the agency. He currently is responsible for general accounting, budgeting, monitoring cash flow, preparation of financial reports, securing agency assets financial information, and overseeing all financial matters.

A resident of Manlius, Goodman received a master’s degree in business administration from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from SUNY Oswego.

He currently participates in the Old Newspaper Boys organization with the Salvation Army, offers his time as a Tel-Auc volunteer for WCNY, and has served as a past treasurer for the CNY Association for the Learning Disabled.
