Four EMA Partners Named Who’s Who in Shopper Marketing

Shopper Marketing magazine has named Virginia Bates, Dave Bulger, Sandy Gingerich and Rob Neiler from Eric Mower + Associates to its 2012 “Who’s Who in Shopper Marketing Agencies” list. All four are part of EMA’s Brand Promotion Group, which provides shopper marketing support to nationally recognized brands including Fisher-Price, Mattel, Transitions Optical, Lactalis Deli and Dixie, creating marketing campaigns at major retailers like Target, Walmart, and Toys “R” Us.

Shopper Marketing, a leading publication for retail marketing executives, publishes its annual “Who’s Who” list to highlight more than 170 agency executives nationwide who are behind some of the best work in the shopper marketing industry, and are including digital, insights and the shopper in the mix. EMA’s Brand Promotion Group specializes in marketing to New Moms. The team works to understand how a new mom behaves—and helps reach them through offers, incentives and shopper marketing programs that encourage new moms to engage with a brand, visit a retail store, or try a new product.

Bates is partner and director of promotion planning at EMA. She leads the agency’s brand promotion team in designing and executing everything from online sweepstakes and FSIs to events and in-store merchandising. Bates is also a member of EMA’s New Moms specialty team.

Bulger is director of EMA Insight, EMA’s integrated research, insight, strategy, planning and analytics group. He has more than 20 years’ experience in behavioral, direct and relationship marketing, helping brands to attract, nurture and retain their most valuable customers.

Head of EMA’s Buffalo office, Gingerich also leads EMA’s New Moms specialty team. Gingerich has worked with clients to develop account-specific programs for mass retailers like Walmart, Target, Kmart, Home Depot and Lowe’s.

Throughout his 37-year career in marketing, Neiler has managed many successful marketing programs, and has created award-winning retail exhibits and merchandising programs for clients. At EMA, he serves as partner and director of in-store creative strategies. Neiler is also member of the In-Store Marketing Institute and other industry associations.
