CHARLOTTE, N.C. (JUNE 26, 2017) – Eric Mower + Associates, one of the nation’s leading independent marketing firms serving clients across the U.S., is relocating its Charlotte office to the new 615 South College office tower developed by Portman Holdings and designed by John Portman & Associates.
EMA provides clients with strategic insights, digital solutions, creative marketing, advertising and public relations services. The agency is known for its results-driven campaigns and internationally award-winning work for clients in a broad range of industries, including specialties in energy and sustainability, travel and tourism, health care, financial services, buildings and construction, new moms, public relations and public affairs, and business to business. EMA’s clients include Cabarrus County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Charlotte Pipe & Foundry, Daimler Trucks North America, Domtar, Epsom Salt Council, FedEx, FirstEnergy, Ford, Georgia-Pacific, Mattel, Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, Nucor and Sensus.
EMA’s new location on the building’s third floor will accommodate additional staff for the agency in Charlotte, one of nine offices the firm has across the eastern U.S. The office is being designed to reflect the agency’s Brand as Friend® philosophy, which leverages the nine drivers of friendship to build affection, relevance and trust between brands and their customers. The space will rely on the latest research in office design, which indicates productivity is maximized by a combination of collaborative and private spaces.
“We want an office that is flexible and attractive. A place where great ideas are brought to life and where our staff and our clients feel energized,” said Rick Lyke, EMA senior vice president, managing director. “Together with the design team, we’re coming up with interesting solutions that represent our Brand as Friend marketing approach.”
The 18-story 615 South College is a 371,000-square-foot Class-A office building. Visible from Interstate-277, the building features two-story balconies with views of both downtown and South End Charlotte and an outdoor green space that connects the building to Stonewall Station, the first light rail stop in Uptown Charlotte.
“Eric Mower + Associates is committed to a vibrant Charlotte, and relocating to Uptown and this new space matches the enthusiasm our team brings to work each day,” said Matt Ferguson, EMA executive vice president, managing director, brand development. “We started this process nearly two years ago and were very selective about not only the location, but also the partners we’ve been working with on the project. We wanted a new space that enhances our collaborative work style and places us at the heart of growth in our region.”
We are excited to welcome Eric Mower + Associates to 615 South College,” said Travis Garland, director of leasing for Portman Holdings. “It is an ideal location for local and global businesses, offering the best of Uptown’s amenities and convenient connectivity.” Garland, along with Trinity Partners, represented the landlord in lease negotiations.
Other tenants in the building include Regions Bank, co-working giant WeWork and global accounting firm BDO. 615 South College is surrounded by respected corporate neighbors including Duke Energy and other large financial institutions, and is located just steps away from the city’s professional sports arenas, parks and the Charlotte Convention Center, as well as the Portman-developed and -owned Westin Charlotte.
EMA is working with Foundry Commercial for its tenant representation and IA Interior Architects for its office design. The agency selected IA not only because the architectural firm has designed leading-edge environments for agencies like Ogilvy and Sapient Nitro, but also tech companies such as Twitter and LinkedIn.
