EMA’s Social Media Strategist Presents on Social Networking at Syracuse Chamber Business Show

Matt Hames, social media strategist at marketing communications firm Eric Mower and Associates (EMA), will present a social networking seminar at the 17th Annual Greater Syracuse Chamber Business Show on Thursday, April 2.

Hames’ presentation will focus on how the use of social networking tools such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, SlideShare and YouTube can help small businesses gain business share, customer interest, and marketing advantages.

“Just having a websites isn’t enough, given the more advanced and versatile options in social networking,” Hames said.

The rise of social networks and online communities is undeniable. Within the last two years, networks such as Facebook and LinkedIn have transformed into marketing gems, and can provide a platform for client and customer communication when used correctly.

“Matt’s previous presentation on social networking for small business to Chamber members was such a tremendous success that we are delighted to have him at the annual business show to provide additional insight into social media techniques and tips,” said Carol Hill, director of Workforce Solutions and Community Relations at the Greater Syracuse Chamber of Commerce.

As social media strategist, Hames works with EMA clients to develop effective Web 2.0 programs that allow consumers to connect with brands. He helps ensure that brands are moving their customer relationships forward by using social networks to their full advantage.

“We are leaders and educators in social networking, and recognize it as an important aspect of marketing. Our participation in the Chamber Business Show positions EMA as consultants and advisors for social media,” Hames said.

The Syracuse Chamber Business Show encourages members and exhibitors to connect with each other and integrate new technology into their businesses. The Chamber anticipates approximately 7,000 attendees to this year’s show.
