EMA Wins Six Awards

Eric Mower and Associates has won three first-place awards from the Printing Industry of the Carolinas (PICA) for work EMA developed for Domtar, Nucor Corp. and Cogdell Spencer Erdman. The PICA Awards are the premier symbol of excellence for the graphics industry in the Carolinas., and the announcement comes shortly after EMA won the Best of Show and first-place Advertising Creative Excellence Awards last month from the Business Marketing Association of New York City.

EMA’s work for Cogdell Spencer Erdman, the nation's premier integrated healthcare facilities company, won a PICA Award in the best booklet category. The booklet, or brochure, highlights Cogdell Spencer Erdman’s position as an industry leader committed to helping build a better healthcare system. It was printed on uncoated stock with rich floods of color.

EMA’s work for steel manufacturer Nucor won in PICA’s best 2011 calendar category. The large 12-month calendar showcases the range of Nucor’s steel product line with dramatic color photos.

EMA’s work for Domtar, a global leader in paper manufacturing, won a PICA Award in the best presentation folder category for its “Paper Because” press kit, which was designed to help show Domtar’s impressive environmental resume and commitment to printing responsibly. EMA made the kits from Domtar’s EarthChoice® paper, which is approved by the Forest Stewardship Council and supported by the Rainforest Alliance. By printing directly to the box, it reduced shipping weight, packing supplies and paper usage. The kit also included a flash drive that contained a mountain of materials at a fraction of the weight, as well as 25 sheets of Domtar EarthChoice paper.

In addition to the PICA Award wins, EMA’s work for the “Paper Because” campaign has been named a three-time winner for the Association of Independent Creative Editors Awards, which recognize creative excellence in editorial and post production. Three videos from the Domtar “Paper Because” campaign are up for awards in the Best of Dallas category: “Jason and the Paperless Workplace,” “The Workflow” and “The To-Do List.” Winners will be announced at an event in New York City on May 17.
