For the seventh year in a row, Eric Mower and Associates (EMA) has been ranked as the number one advertising agency in Central New York Business Journal’s newly released 2008 Book of Lists. The weekly business publication compiles the ranking annually based on submissions from marketing communications agencies across Central New York and the Southern Tier.
“Client relationships here in our Syracuse office have been the foundation of the agency’s continued growth and success, so this is an honor we share with our clients,” said Chris Steenstra, senior partner and leader of EMA’s Syracuse office. “Without them, we wouldn’t be at the top of the list again this year.”
EMA’s Syracuse office is the firm’s “center of excellence” for business-to-business marketing communications and is the base of operations for EMA Group B2B, which specializes in the delivery of effective marketing communications for business-to-business clients with extensive experience in building and construction, healthcare, graphic arts and imaging, and supply chain management. Clients include FedEx, Kodak, Motorola, Newell/Rubbermaid (BernzOmatic®, IRWIN® and Lenox® brands), Honeywell Nucor Steel, Pass & Seymour/Legrand, Siemens E&A, and others.
EMA’s Syracuse office is also active in the Central New York community. The firm was recently named the 2008 recipient of the United Way of Central New York’s “Spirit of Caring Award” for professional service. EMA Syracuse is also one of three finalists for the 2008 Greater Syracuse Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award, to be presented on Mar. 6.
EMA is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2008. Founder Eric Mower first joined Silverman Advertising in 1968, when it was the 14th largest agency in Syracuse. Mower became Chairman and CEO in 1980 and since that time the agency has expanded to include seven offices along the East Coast. Regionally, EMA is among the top five independent agencies in the east. In addition, EMA is the only agency in the U.S. to rank in the annual “Top 100” lists of ADWEEK, Advertising Age, BtoB Magazine, PROMO and PRWeek.
