EMA Partner and Crisis Blogger Steve Bell Warns: Anyone Can Be Thrown into a Crisis

What happens when a prank thrusts two unsuspecting NFL General Managers on the phone to sound off about players on their respective teams? An embarrassing crisis erupts and reminds us all that times have changed and sometimes a crisis can’t be avoided.

Steve Bell, partner and director of public affairs at Eric Mower + Associates discussed the prank and its consequences during an interview with Western New York’s WBEN News Radio. The full story can be found here.

“This unfortunate event reminds us of a crisis and media management law that says, if you don’t want to see it on TV, hear it on radio or read it in a newspaper or online, don’t say it,” said Bell.

In addition to speaking with WBEN about the prank, Bell also shared his thoughts on his blog Steve on Crisis, which offers views on crisis management and mismanagement in a digital age.
