Marketing communications firm Eric Mower and Associates (EMA) jumped 13 spots in Adweek‘s annual “Top 100 Agencies” ranking to place 61 out of the top 100 major advertising firms in the nation. This is EMA’s highest position on the list to date.
The ranking, calculated by revenue and capitalized billings, appears in Adweek‘s April 13 issue. Based on the ranking, EMA is among the top 20 independent ad agencies in the United States.
“The people at EMA are creative, determined, and focused on working together to produce the best efforts and outcomes for clients. These are the qualities that help both the agency and our clients succeed in today’s challenging economy,” said Eric Mower, EMA’s chairman and CEO.
In addition to experiencing growth from new clients and expanded work from existing clients, the agency won several key awards in 2008, including five Pro-Comm Awards; two first-place Financial Marketing Awards from the American Bankers Association; three Magellan Awards from the Competition from the League of Communications Professionals; an honorable mention in the Business Marketing Association’s ACE Awards; two WebAwards from the Web Marketing Association; and had CEBA finalist selections in three categories.
EMA combined with Clarke Advertising and Public Relations in Sarasota, Fla., in January 2008. EMA expanded its Syracuse, Albany, and Atlanta offices through combinations with Mark Russell and Associates in May 2008 and Sawchuk Brown Associates in August 2008. The agency also opened a service office in Los Angeles.
