Eric Mower and Associates was recently honored with the Spirit of Caring Professional Service Award at the 2008 United Way of Central New York Achievement Celebration.
EMA received the award in recognition of its pro-bono work with local non-profits and for its “Day of Caring,” in which EMA employees spent a workday fixing up a house on Syracuse’s near west side.
“To be truly successful, everyone must benefit, is EMA’s philosophy,” said Chris Steenstra, senior partner, who accepted the award on behalf of EMA. “That ‘everyone’ absolutely includes the people in the communities where we live and work. Benefiting everyone is the target we aim for at EMA, and receiving this award certainly inspires to keep at it.”
The Central New York United Way grants the awards annually, to honor the outstanding achievements of the Central New York United Way’s corporate customers, their unions and employees. Awards were given in six categories: Organized Labor Participation, Professional Service, Volunteer Service, Gifts-In-Kind, Leadership Development, and Campaign Excellence.
