A successful business needs a strong financial manager. Eric Mower and Associates (EMA) is lucky to have that in Hal Goodman, partner and director of finance, who has been named the Central New York Business Journal’s 2008 CFO of the Year.
The award recognizes and honors Central New York’s top chief financial officers in their field, and was presented for the first time ever during a luncheon on May 29, 2008 at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center in Syracuse.
“Hal has his hand on the heartbeat of EMA’s financial present and future,” said Fran Nichols, managing partner, Eric Mower and Associates. “He protects that future with his knowledge, enthusiasm and constant vigilance of the financial health of the company. We could not be more proud of Hal’s accomplishment being named CFO of the Year.”
Since joining EMA in 1979, Goodman has worked in various financial positions within the agency. He currently is responsible for general accounting, budgeting, monitoring cash flow, preparation of financial reports, securing agency assets financial information, and overseeing all financial matters.
A resident of Manlius, Goodman received a master’s degree in business administration from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from SUNY Oswego.
He currently participates in the Old Newspaper Boys organization with the Salvation Army, offers his time as a Tel-Auc volunteer for WCNY, and has served as a past treasurer for the CNY Association for the Learning Disabled.
