Campaigning for Success: Tom Brede’s Unique Career Journey is Featured in The Democrat and Chronicle

Tom Brede’s journey from a Senate press secretary to account supervisor in the public affairs practice at Eric Mower and Associates is one full of determination, persistence and a willingness to take chances. His unique career path and journey back to his hometown of Rochester were recently featured in The Democrat and Chronicle’s “Young Professionals” section.

After moving to Las Vegas, Brede landed a job on the re-election campaign of Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nevada, in 2004. That position led to Brede holding a series of increasingly important communications and strategy roles in Reid’s office, most recently as press secretary for the Senate Majority Leader.

Brede joined EMA’s Public Affairs practice in March 2011. The Public Affairs practice gives him the opportunity to combine his public relations experience with his public policy knowledge, advising EMA’s clients on a variety of legislative and community matters, especially those related to health care.

Brede, a Penfield, N.Y., native, attributes his career success to taking chances and being open to life’s opportunities. His advice to other young professionals is that “there’s no harm in chasing your dreams.”
