American Association of Advertising Agencies Names Eric Mower Director-at-Large

Eric Mower, chairman and chief executive officer of independent marketing communications agency Eric Mower and Associates, has been elected to a two-year term as director-at-large for the American Association of Advertising Agencies. The 4A’s is a national trade association that represents the advertising industry.

Mower has been involved with the 4A’s board of directors for nearly 25 years, serving in a number of roles including director-at-large; national secretary/treasurer; chair of the Eastern Region Board of Governors; and chair of the New York State Council. He will continue as chair of the 4A’s Government Relations Committee, whose Washington, D.C., staff represents the trade association in a variety of governmental matters. The 4A’s helps members build their businesses through management orientation and acting as the industry’s spokesperson with government, media, and the public sector.

Mower is active in advertising industry affairs and contributes to a number of professional, public and community service organizations, in addition to the 4A’s. He is on the board of the National Advertising Review Council (NARC), the industry’s self-regulatory body, which he has chaired since 2008. Prior to that, he served on the NARC board for 10 years. Mower is also the vice chair of the Business Council of New York State. He is a trustee emeritus for Syracuse University and serves on the Advisory Council of the University’s renowned S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
