A while back, I wrote a post entitled, “Pink…it’s not just for princesses anymore.” The gist of it was that new moms, and some successful marketers, are starting to break through gender stereotyping when it comes to developing products and marketing them to boys and girls.
“Starting” is the operative word here, as I am reminded by little Riley, the star of this recent viral video. She agrees with my point, but blasts her opinion on gender-based marketing in a way only a child can: loudly and truthfully. Check her out—amidst the sea of toy-aisle pink—and think about what marketing strategies your company uses to communicate your products to different genders.
