How we work
We are a strategic partner focused on helping you win.
Many organizations want to make major business investments, but require government approval to do so. Others face public or regulatory actions that create risk for their businesses. To shape, target, and communicate messages that can positively influence these issues, these clients often turn to EMA's public affairs group.
No wonder: EMA's PA team includes professionals with extensive experience in government, public policy, politics, advocacy, and journalism. That means we can anticipate and react to moves by the many players in a complicated drama: elected officials, candidates, policymakers, competitors, interest groups, journalists, community groups, and concerned citizens.
We do this as a team. We collaborate with the client's in-house people and outside consultants — lobbyists, attorneys, policy experts, engineers. And we work with the other communications experts within EMA. The result is truly strategic communications. Of course we also execute the right tactics: media relations, crisis communications, community outreach, issue advertising, grassroots strategies, advocacy, media training, and web development.
We've served clients from business and industry, from many different advocacy groups, from higher education, from health care, and throughout the not-for-profit sector. The challenges we help these diverse clients meet are equally varied. We help win local siting approvals, favorable legislative and executive actions from state and local governments, and regulatory decisions. EMA has extensive experience helping clients in the energy industry — helping win regulatory approval for mergers, siting wind investments, and creating legislative change.
