We are seeking a Director of Public Affairs to lead our growing statewide and national Public Affairs practice. We want a strong leader and team player who has the ability to counsel clients on communications and public policy issues, working alongside a team of PR and PA consultants who have practiced at the highest levels of media, government and corporate communications. Job Description:
EMA's relationship marketing strategy & technology team, Pump Digital & Direct, is seeking a highly motivated individual with a solid background in Account Planning. This individual will be responsible for using experienced account planning techniques and the latest and most innovative methods for obtaining customer insight.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides leadership and guidance for team members on voice of the customer and both market and client dynamics.
- Actively communicates with a fully integrated member of the client's designated team with particular close cooperation with account service and creative.
- Crafts creative briefs and provides clear persuasive briefings to creatives.
- Recommends and implements research that will aid in the consumer insight gathering and strategic process.
- Actively engages all secondary research sources to gain deep insight into market dynamics and consumer behavior, to effectively communicate the findings to the team and to develop recommendations.
- Ability to manage primary research specialists and provides clear specifications for actionable relevant research to the team and to the client.
- Develops accurate and insightful conclusions from research data and presents strategy and direction to both internal teams and to the client.
- Monitors and interprets cultural and social trends relevant to the client's business.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college required.
- Five or more years of work experience in an advertising agency in a related area, including at least two years in account planning required.
- Experience with both business-to-consumer and business-to-business experience is a plus.
COMMUNICATION ABILITY:
Ability to read and interpret information from a variety of sources, such as online and offline media properties, research reports, white papers and cross-tabulated survey data. Ability to write research reports, presentations, white papers and general business correspondence. Ability to effectively present research results to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
STRATEGIC THINKING:
Candidate must demonstrate a passion to define problems, collect information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions based upon information furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to translate learning's and insights into actionable strategies.
