Job Description:
As a Senior Metrics + Analytics Strategist, you'll be a member of EMA Insight, the agency's insight, strategy, planning and analytics group, working with a multidisciplinary team to design integrated marketing communication systems that leverage online and offline media channels to foster customer relationships and accelerate optimal buying behaviors.
You'll be tasked with designing, building and implementing data capture systems and predictive models, performing ad-hoc statistical analyses to answer various research questions and helping EMA's account teams collect, understand and act upon the data most important for our clients' successes. You'll need to demonstrate your hands-on experience and mastery of the latest tools, resources and best practices. And, you'll be expected to develop strong, collegial relationships with key internal stakeholders across all EMA offices (senior management, business development, account management, project management, content development, public relations, media, development, etc.) and external audiences (clients, business partners, influencers, etc.).
Responsibilities:
- Developing advanced analytical solutions to help solve client business problems
- Employing sophisticated analytical techniques to design, develop and deploy predictive statistical models, evaluate testing initiatives and conduct segmentation analyses
- Designing, executing, and reporting research and analysis results
- Creating interactive models and building datasets from data stored in a variety of formats
- Developing and maintaining agency-wide and client-by-client metrics, KPIs and CSFs, as well as metric generating tools for quick response to ad-hoc requests
- Creating reports and presentations that make our clients say, "Wow!"
- Developing agency-wide standards for metrics collection and reporting
- Supporting on-going, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting processes, including analysis and preparation of dashboards, scorecards and benchmarks
- Researching best practices around performance metrics, advanced statistical analysis and predictive modeling
- Participating in RFP and other new business development
Skills:
- Expertise with SPSS, SAS or other major statistical analysis package (we use SPSS)
- Ninja-like skills with MS Excel and power-user of other MS Office products (extra credit if you're a Keynote wizard)
- Proficiency with SQL and relational database construction/queries
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (you will be asked to provide at least two metrics reports or recommendation analyses as writing samples)
- Presentation prowess (you create and deliver great presentations that capture and motivate an audience)
- Ability to research, read and interpret information from a variety of sources and deliver findings and recommendations
- Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative market research techniques
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Comprehensive understanding of integrated marketing communications strategy—you understand how all of the pieces (offline advertising, public relations, search marketing, online advertising, social and mobile media, web development, direct marketing etc.) fit and their roles in the marketing mix
- Familiarity with basic computer programming logic (extra credit for actual programming chops)
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously (with limited supervision)
Experience:
- 4-6 years of analytics, predictive modeling, statistical analysis and metrics analysis reporting experience
- Graduate degree in Statistics or related quantitative field preferred; BA/BS in statistics, mathematics or related quantitative field required
- Experience with multichannel lead generation, lead nurturing/scoring and relationship marketing campaign planning and management
- Proven experience creating advanced analytics solutions leveraging research, statistics, and modeling
- Experience developing and managing complex analytics, customer insight, and business intelligence projects
- Fluency with web and data analytics (e.g., Google, WebTrends, Radian6, etc.)
- Understanding of statistical and data mining techniques, such as linear and logistic regression, CHAID, t-tests/ANOVA, LDA, neural networks
- Agency or consulting experience
